lol, I could of sworn it was silver....I changed my rear diff like 6 months ago and it made a big difference! Which meineke you go to? I will be installing AMG front bumper, CF lip, 19's, rotors, pads, AMG trunk spoiler. Try to fix the squeaking coming from my camber kit and probably throwing my H&R springs back on. We should organize a meet this sunmmer in NJ!

Bump this back, I am thinking about getting this because a quad setup would look weird on a 350 bumper. what are your guys opinion?

I wouldn't buy a muffler with tips on it, it'll hang too low. What you should be looking at is something like a 11245 (if you have 2.5" exhaust, I don't know what it is on the 6cyl) and a 35168 tip.

Yea thats a problem too i have no idea what the piping is for the V6, the V8 is 2.5 but im assuming the V6 should be 2.25 i have no idea, and what do you mean by hang too low? what would cause it to hang too low?

The rear piping on the V8 is 3". When you look at the rear section of the car you'll see how the OEM muffler is shaped and where the tip is placed - the majority of the muffler is up high, the tip is low. So, if you put a muffler on the car that has the tip(s) centered, the muffler body will be exposed more than if you buy a universal muffler and have it installed higher in the open area (lot's of us angle it) and have the tips welded on lower. Probably the best option for doing that is the 12255.

If you look at my AMS/Magnaflow thread you will see a pic of the Magnaflow muffler in the rear section that is angled, this will give you a clear idea in regards to what I'm talking about.

So far so good mate. I've checked it several times and it visually is still straight as an arrow. The car does have a slight sensation of a quicker rev up on the bottom end and it does seem to kick in the traction control quicker than with the stock pulley. This can be attributed to the weight savings. The best way I can describe it is that it feels like when I put a light weight flywheel on a car back home - it's not exactly the same of course because an OEM flywheel is a huge mass of weight but the sensation is similar. I'm going to have the torque checked on it this week if I find myself passing by the MB dealer. But, so far so good.

I bought my tips from the shop that did my work here in Dubai, Fox Exhaust of Germany. The tips are larger than the standard AMG style, they look a little beefier IMO.

Mercedes CLK280 2007
I know I'm digging a few months old thread, but I recently was at the exhaust shop taking the resonator off and I can confirm that my V6 CLK280 (3L engine) is 2.5'' piping.

Kevwood, thanks to all the info in exhaust threads and especially yours, I've finalized 14263 (couldnt find non-polished in this config) as replacement for OEM muffler. What do you think? Would center inlet/offset outlet be better in any way?

I'm still contemplating a 12216 muffler to put where my resonator was. The resonator is 15'', and this was the only 14'' appropriate fit. 2nd option is to get an 18'' oval Magnaflow with two inlets and one outlet to replace the resonator AND the Y pipe, just like you advised me to do. However I need to get the car on the lift first and measure the exact length to determine whether i need the 14'', 18'', or 24'' body length mufflers.

I actually ordered the 35168 tips for my E class last year but never got to put them on. Also read some weird reviews of them on the W211 forums on the loud whistling noises they produced on this guy's car (the kind you get when you blow air over the opening of a soda bottle). Hehe anyways just saying. I'm still divided between sticking with original tips so I dont have to cut the muffler, or these 35168 tips, or anything else. What was the part number of your tips? I met Fox guys at the IAA this month, have their price list for 2011.

Cheers
