Unhappy Motor Electronics 9.7 2007 CLK 550

I have a current code 0524, diagnosis of tumble flap 'intake manifold' : short or open circuit / actuating lever/ sensor faulty, replace sensor. Would that cause the engine to sputter under load at low rpm (1500-2000) in 4 or higher gear?

Yes, that could be a result. Basically the air is flowing through a different runner path then it was designed to have at that RPM.
