PICTURE REQUEST

Wassup guys. I am contemplating lowering my Clk500 via lowering springs but on my stock 17"in AMG wheels. I was going go with a set of 19"in wheels but I live in NYC and these roads SUCK. I'm just afraid of Manhattan roads + 19"in wheels. Not a good combo to say the least. I just wanted to see what our cars look like dropped on springs whether it be H&R, eibach etc. on the Stock 17"in MERC wheels.

Thanks.

First one is on H&R springs/17's and the second is with Vogtland Springs/17's. The Vogtland's have the same 1.2" drop as the Eibach's

Thanks Dyno. How was the ride between the H&R compared to the Vogtland?

Even though the H&R's are more aggressive I like the ride better.

Tough decision. I would never take my car into the city! I salute you sir for having some BIG BRASS ones!!

LMAO. Dude the city is literally like a war zone. That's the main reason I want to keep my 17"in wheels. If I spent 2k+ in some 19'in wheels & tires then fell into one of the million potholes NYC has to offer..... I'm getting pissed of just thinking about it. lol I just HATE the wheel gap and would love drop it a little. Plus a little less body roll and better handling never hurt anyone.

M-Benz your car looks sweeeeet bro. Usually the cars I see with H&R's tend to sit lower in the rear, but your car sits perfectly. H&R springs and what spring pads are you using ? Also how do you find the ride quality with the H&R?

Guys hows the tire wear with the H&R's? Will I be going thru tires every 4-6 months? What shocks are you guys running? LOL I know question after question. Im thinking if possible I could drop it on the stock shocks and try to get away with that as opposed to buying new shocks

The tire wear isn't that bad, but I don't keep wheels on for more than 6 months at a time. Winters here are a PITA for 19's so I switch them back to stock.

I'm running Bilstein HD's and they are awesome! You could use stock suspension but it's not recommended. I have seen more people lowered on stock suspension have camber issues than with aftermarket.

It depends on car to car (not sure why)...some ppls get the rear right tire wear out faster than the left and some got opposite. Hope that helps.

Thanks M -Benz. I've heard of that also, it's really a car specific type of issue.

if you live in bumpy roads, i think you should stick to the 17s and get a good set of shocks and struts. currently im considering the koni FSD. i live in sf, so pot holes here and there and they are big. but i also have 18" rims. lol so im asking for it. i carry weight with audio in the trunk and from time to time, people in the back seats or just stuff that i lug around.

if this is your commute mule. consider a soft set of shocks and struts to take the hits so your car dont have to

thats my two cents.
