Relatively new to the car, but not to Mercedes. Have a 2004 CLK500 Cab. Today, I attempted to lower the top...the windows lowered, the top unlatched, the motor hummed, but nothing further. It did not seem inclined to re-latch without applying pressure to the front top frame. Anyone have any clues as to the issue.

Bring it to Mercedes, I know on the SL tops sometimes this happens and they just need to be reprogrammed, could be the same with the CLK. No promises but sounds like a similar issue.

Check the fluid level in the reservior (trunk driver). No fluid mean you have a leak in one of the hydrolic shocks or pump. Did the top storages cover open? The top storages cover have to open first before the top can drop down.

Was your car sitting in the hot sun prior to you trying to open it? Mine does that when it has been baking in the sun, after it cools down it will open normally, or if you want to rush it open the trunk up to let the super heated air out.Originally Posted by Kimberley
