Good to see they are working. If I recall correctly, that bumper was a 500 AMG with 63 vents right?

I just bought my CLK less than a month ago but want to finish up everything on it right away so I can enjoy it for the most part. The car is bone stock right now with exception to window tint but this is what I have bought over the past 3 weeks and is going to be shipped to Dubai in August/September with some items that have been stored in Canada for the past 4 years;

H&R springs
H&R front and rear sway bars
Koni's
Magnafow muffler
Quad tips
VIS carbon rear diffuser
Carbon front lip spoiler
Carbon rear deck spoiler
AMS headers
AMS pulley
E55 AMG airbox with BMC filters
SL style grille

I'm also going to change out the wheels, haven't decided on what ones yet so I'll prolly just get those in Dubai. I want something with a chrome lip/dish and a black face, maybe multi-spoke.

Other than that, I few styling changes here and there but nothing major.

A shout out to Andy (M-bENZ) in regards to the tips, he sent me a link on a set like the ones he used. I originally wanted to go the standard AMG oval route but then thought I'd rather have something that has a bit more meat to the walls to compliment the factory chrome accents already on the car. Once I get the diffuser on I'll see how they look, if they work well then they'll stay, if not, then cookie cutter AMG tips it it.

A lot of guys on this forum (including you Dyno) have been very helpful, looking forward to sharing pics with you guys when it's finished (within a month of getting all the parts is the plan).

As for the wheels, what's your opinion on the Sonic Tuning ST281's (not sure if you're allowed to post links on this forum)? I've had 5 spoke style wheels on practically every car/truck I've owned, I'm thinking the CLK might look great with more of a 'turbine style', ala CLK63 AMG blackie I've seen.

It would look good but probably a PITA to clean. I like the ST160's a bit more if you want to go black. Don't know if your looking for a lip or not. I would of bought them already if they had them available in 18's.

I looked at those as well but yes, wanting to have a somewhat deep chrome lip to keep with the chrome details already on the car. Also want gloss black, flat black doesn't look right on a white car IMO, great on silver though. Good call on the cleaning, I'll have to get some brake pads like you have and leave the rest up to the pressure washer

Sonic Tuning seems to have some pretty good pricing & I presume they're good quality, haven't come across anything negative as yet.

Sonic seems like a good company with quality wheels. The Akebono's are a must buy.

06 CLK350 -SOLD! 2010 Cadillac SRX Premium Turbo
Plans for mods.

1- Clay bar and synthetic wax. Full detail

2- R1 drilled and slotted premium rotors

3- New CF spoiler (Have one on it now in CF. Bought Coin's (Rudy) Black Series. It is in the shop being stripped of the silver paint and back to CF with clear. It looks great so far even without the clear on it yet. Should be on in the next week or so.)

4- Front lip spoiler. Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction for a 06 CLK350 fitment

Wow, how difficult is it to strip the paint off the CF? How much they charging you? Euroteck has a Cf lip for the 350 but it's $725.

They have been working on it very slowly with some product that is emulsifying the paint. They have it nearly all removed. The precautions is necessary to not to eat through the clear coat covering the CF. It's a friend of mine who manages a body shop doing the work. 200.00 to strip and clear, along with removing my spoiler on the car and putting on the BS.

725.00! That's steep. Mike

Awesome, I think I'm the only one without a "friend " at a body shop. Try eBay for the lip like clkboi mentioned

I bought the tips about 30 minutes after you sent me the link - they were exactly what I was looking for. Yes, also snagged the E55 AMG airbox as well. On Monday (if all goes to plan, I'm heading to Cairo tomorrow so might not have the time) I'm going to order a set of wheels as well. I'm going to have a heck of a lot of parts headed this way in August.

Name is Kevin (Kev). Kevwood comes from back about 10 years ago or so when I worked sales/marketing for Kenwood Electronics Canada, I had a show car and a license plate with a little word play 'KEVWOOD', the name just stuck.

I hear you about something different, I don't want to have another 'cookie cutter' look. Although we are somewhat limited for styling parts (within reason of course) for the CLK, there are certainly some guys on this forum who have done some spectacular jobs modding their cars yet keeping them looking clean. Thats pretty much what I want to do as well, I think a nice blend of carbon/black and chrome on a white car will look quite striking.

Finding oval tips shouldn't be too much of an issue should it?
