Just bought a new, leftover 09 CLK350.. need help car's behavior??!!!
Hi,
I am new to benz, though i grew up in a w124. I currently have an a4, and the clk is mom's.
I must say, the CLK is one sexy ride.. I absolutely love it!!
As I drove it the other day, i encountered many things I am concerned with (note that the car had 29 miles when picked up, 750 now after a month):
1) During very light acceleration from stop, i hear a small clunking sound. Sounds like the transmission is having a hard time engaging in first or switching to second. However, no such sound under harder acceleration (1/3 pedal). Also, the sound seems to be more frequent when turning at low speed.
2) There is a single knocking sound occasionally right AFTER or BEFORE coming to a complete stop (usually from around 20-40 mph). It's loud enough to make me worry.
3) During and only idle, there is a rhythmic ticking (pulse) sound. Air condition and sound were off.
4) Driver side mirror vibrates at highway speed. The casing does not, but the image does...
Please don't flame me to use the "search buttom" or etc.. I've tried and seems like number 3 and 4 were common?? Can't find much on 1 and 2

did you buy it from the dealer?
you might want them to check that out. maybe you can go to an indie to see if he knows anything about it. other than that i cant figure out what.
the mirror shouldnt vibrate on the highway unless you have some bumpy roads. i dont remember mine vibrating. next time im on the highway i'll turn the sub off to see if it vibrates?
