sorry guys. i know this has been discussed over and over again.

and i understand how to do the oil change and everything. but i get mixed answers between which plug is the engine bay vs transmission.

so red or black?

When I did it, it was the red cap.

 

Has it changed since then? lol

I didn't even check a red and black cap.. that's why I wondered which one in the step did I miss... about red cap... I just skipped that step because that was for W208 DIY oil change...


But I am pretty sure I was able to extract another 4quarts from the engine bay.. (aside from "SUCKING IT OUT".... yeah that's what she said.. LOL)

and not transmission! LOL... I just did not do the red and black cap thingy.. nor notice a red cap while doing my oil change..

I did remove 2 black caps.. the filler cap and the filter cap... and it is a very good choice to get a filter cap remover.. coz it is very hard to twist just by hand...

 

Of the two caps on the back, the oil one sticks up higher and is closer to the rear of the airbox (transmission one is closer to the firewall).
