I was driving this morning at about 50 mph, when i turned on the wipers to clear a giant bug splat in my sightline...on the second pass, the passenger side wiper blade flew off the car and landed behind me in the street. luckily i recognized it right away, and turned off the wipers to prevent the now "bald" wiper arm from scratching the windscreen. there was little traffic, so i pulled over and backed up to retrieve my wiper. i then went to the gas station and tried to put it back on, however the sliding clip that holds the wiper will not engage. looks like its off to the dealer .....
better check those clips...i hand wash the vehicle, and never noticed it wasn't engaging. there was a small gap that i thought was normal due to the design.

The same thing happened to my right wiper when car wash attentant was lifting wiper to dry off windshield. Just tell dealer to replace wiper with new one. The clip is connected to wiper arm.

This is comforting news

I've found it to be very difficult to remove the locking cap of the wiper blades...they're really on tight. So I guess when the dealer changed your blades they did not put the cap(s) on properly.

they didn't change my blades, the service advisor took out his pocket knife, and bent the clips inside of the plastic covers. low tech fix, but it works fine now, and the blades are secure.

Thought you were one of the many that had the bad wiper issue...glad all is well now.
