CLK 30cdi AMG W209, A Lang W168, Impreza Sti GC8
My project
Hi,
Here's some pics of my project. All pics taken with a camera phone, sorry about that.
The car was originally a CLK 270cdi -03.
Now it has a C30cdi AMG engine, speedshift tranny, amg cluster, amg driveshafts, brembo 4-pot brakes etc...
It had 157hp original, now it is 330hp/760nm.
This winter i'm fitting a bigger turbo and injectors and hoping to get to 400-500hp range and over 1000nm.
This is how it all started:
I was towing my time attack sti for a remap to the other side of my country.

Then my tranny got the well known glycol issue![smash](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/smashfreak.gif)
So i had to put the merc on the trailer and drive 600km home with my racing spec subaru.

I love building and upgrading cars but i hate to repair them! Thats why i had to come up with something more special.
When i was buying my CLK a few years ago i had a hard time choosing between it and a C30cdi AMG.
Loved the engine in C30 but hate the w203 body. I love the body on a CLK but it newer came with the 30cdi amg engine. I decided to go with a 270cdi CLK.
Now i had a good excuse to build my dream car. I bought a compele rare C30cdi AMG.

Engine fits nice in clk even tought it has never been an option on a CLK.

Bought some coilovers

and Ghostriders camber arms

This is how the car looks now.
Facelift amg front, 19" rims. Searching for a carbon lip for the frontbumper...

Looks good. Is the camber kit for the front or rear? Do you hear the knocking sound that many get with that camber-kit? PS loving the single fin grill - got the same thing- specially with the black lights.

Very impressive work, car looks fantastic. I ordered the same grille, yet to see it on a car before yours, again, looks fantastic.

Thanks to all of your complements!
It's the rear camber kit.
I get the knocking sound every once i a while but every camber kit with uniballs gets that sound.
If it bothers too much you must go with a set like this:

Great Project! Sick exterior mods, but my favorite part is the engine (very unique). I wonder if the guys on the AMG forums will let him put ///AMG on his trunk lid (what's the phrase, "no engine, no badge").
Keep us updated!

About 40 miles per gallon on the highway and about 35-30 mpg in the city depending on driving style.
It's a bit more than before but still quite good for a 330hp / 560lb-ft car.
Before the swap i got about 50mpg on highway and 40mpg in city.
(For reference 1 gallone gasoline costs 7.6 usd in finland, 1 gal diesel costs 5.3 usd).

wow thats great! Makes me want to get a diesel. You got the best of both worlds power and good gas mileage.
For some reason in the past couple years diesel is more expensive than regular unleaded gas in the u.s. It makes no sense to me. I thought diesel is easier to make than gas
