So I'd need an 06-09 front bumper frame... whether it's non-AMG or AMG, it would work.

Thanks for the info guys.

I would imagine that you need the AMG frame. Unless the non-AMG cars use the same fog lights. I will check to see if they share the same part #.

Thanks for the link Andy, but that details going from an OEM pre-facelift non-AMG bumper to an OEM facelift AMG bumper. Still informative, nontheless.

What I'm really wondering is what parts the shop didn't use in jHo's installation and fitment. I'm assuming he had the sport package on his 2003 w209 before upgrading to this aftermarket bumper. So he already had the AMG frame, bumper absorbers etc... so did they use all that stuff or just leave those AMG specific support parts out?

On the eBay listing, it says "bumper also will fit base model clk" but it's hard for me to believe about 99% of info provided in any eBay listing.

EDIT: Just found this.... think I'd be able to use this instead of buying their ****? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...Q5fAccessories

Jho, did you use your original mesh or did you buy theirs?

This is what the EPC shows for W209 Bumper Frames. When I check for the frame using a VIN from a CLK63, it only lists part # 209 885 0865. I also checked using the VIN off my 320 and it came with part # 209 885 00 65, which is the same part # I purchased when doing my AMG conversion. Turns out I didn't even need the frame. Keep that in mind Pat if you end up going the AMG route.

209 885 00 65 (To Date :07/31/05)

209 885 04 65 (From Date: 01/14/05)

209 885 08 65 (CLK63 Code: -P98)

209 885 06 65 (Black Series Code: P98)

Please don't turn this into an agruement, but I'm not understand you about the frame. If you're talking about the frame for the bumper then yes but the foglight mounting point have nothing to do with the bumper frame. I have the new AMG bumper (2006 model) and I replaced both foglight myself. The the only thing that hold the foglight to the plastic bumper is the 4 screws and 4 clips onto the bumper.

Congratulations! I'm not disagreeing with you. Pat asked if he would still have to purchase the AMG frame or if he could use his. Regardless of where the fogs screw into, he still needs a new frame. The old 03-05 frame actually HOLDS the fogs so the mounting points will get in your way when you are trying to install the round fogs.

Wow. That's a great price, but picture shows a BS not a regular 63.

Pic was small and dark, didn't even realize it had the gills on the side and the shape of the bottom part of the bumper. I sent the seller a question for clarification. They probably just photoshopped a pic off the net anyway. I'll let you know what it is manufactured for.

It's also missing the opening for the fogs.

Wait, you bought the bumper from Advans? If I remember correctly, he bought a regular CLK AMG bumper and had a body shop add the vents himself...but the vents on your bumper look pretty legit.

The bumper Gary bought is the one being sold on eBay. It looks clean in person.

I thought Gary bought a messed up OEM bumper and custom fit the vents... Or did he buy the Sarona off ebay? I'm getting confused.

I guess the only way to know for sure is to ask Gary. I found his thread about the bumper. He does say it's not a direct bol-on and you need a lot of parts to make it fit.

You need to get your eyes checked, they're obviously not the same bumper.

You know, after looking at the pics a few times again I think it may be the same type/one. The picture of Advans (1st pic) at first looks like the vents have been added and flare out, but I think it's just the angle of the pic and the reflections.

Of course the side markers are different and the CF lip is obviously missing but if we are just talking about the side vents - they look the same to me.
