Remove instrument cluster?

Remove instrument cluster?
I would like to remove my instrument cluster and see there are 2 small holes at each bottom corner of the cluster. Is there a specific tool or method used to remove it?

Can you post the link to that? I saw one ebay ad but it was very misleading. They show pics of a factory AMG cluster in a car then at the bottom you see the 'actual' pictures. A cheap ***** bezel cover and horrid looking white aftermarket gauge covers, I can't find the link anymore.

These are the gauges and bezel. I was looking at this the other day. It looks like the cut outs for the gas are off a bit from stock.

That's looking a lot like what I saw. IIRC those are just gauge covers, it's not a complete cluster. I haven't had time to go to the dealer and inquire about the MB white gauges (you sent me the number) & I am shooting off to Kuwait for 2 days but when I get back I'll see what the story is. I just don't think that the eBay stuff is going to be a quality product and the bezel 'over-plate' is just not fitting of a MB.
I DO NOT want to come accross as being a *****, if you guys like the look of this product then I'll be more than happy to toss some compliments your way on the choice. I just want to see if I can get the actual MB silver bezel alone and let you all know so you have some options.
I'm being a little tough on this one because I feel that their ad is VERY misleading.

I feel like they are very misleading also. If you don't scroll down enough you won't see the crappy product you are actually getting. Those gauges may be ok for a Honda but I wouldn't put them on an MB. I actually just purchase this CF bezel from Germany

lol. wow i didnt know it was that bad. lol when i saw it again, i feel like i didnt pay close attention to those details. it would sick tho. although i am wondering if the white gauges and bezel came as it or are they parts...

off to parts.com to find me a gauge cluster. now i am wondering it its just the bezel itself. if you change the cluster...wont it have a diff set of miles on them?

Yea the mileage wouldn't be correct unless you find with with the exact miles. I have heard that you can reprogram it with Star, but my shop told me they can't (Unless they just don't know how). I would of already bought a new cluster if it wasn't for this.

damn its all 3m tape. =( so it not gonna come off after awhile. unless i wanna try to break it...
edit: wes...could you please look up on epc when you have free time if the cluster has its bezel separate =)

I check the other day, the cluster is sold as a unit. No individual part # for the bezel. Kev is working on that though.
Here are some insructions on removing the cluster and opening the housing

I can help!!! I bought that silver bezel off of ebay for my clk 500. Had it installed, the silver plate does not have the propper cut out, so at the end you can see it pop just a little bit... (if you look at the carbon fiber bezel, the cut out is perfect so it would sit properly) The silver bezel didnt look bad, but i obviously noticed where it bubbled a little bit. As far as the white pieces for the gauge... Those Do Not Match up Properly... just a tad bit off... I can text you a photo just pm if you guys want. To be honest, id still buy it again, you cant really tell the gauges dont match up and the silver pops up a little bit. I do like it better than the solid black though. I have pics! let me know!
