HID Conversion Kit
I'm sure this may have been discussed in the past, but does anyone recommend upgrading the CLK 350 headlights using a HID conversion kit? I've heard from the dealer that this upgrade may burn out the housing and/ or produce a lighting fault error message with car. Does anyone have any recommendations?
Off topic, but does anyone know a good customization shop in the Maryland/ Washington DC area?
Thanks!
Dealers are very ignorant wen it comes to upgrades i learned that the hard way. As far as errors it is true. You can bypass that with an error canceler. Most of the HID's now come with it but make sure it does or than you have to buy a pair on your own. $15-20.
Install carefully and aim them low so you dont blind people and you will be fine

Good luck

To get around this, use a resistor in parallel in the wires that you connect to the stock h7 connector from the relay harness, I used a 2.49 ohm 50W resistor, make sure its the larger "dale" resistor though and it doesn't need to be exactly 2.49 ohms or 50watts, higher wattage would be good too.
I did a retrofit a few months ago using projectors from a lexus

I'll try and get a diy up by the end of this week, just have to organize all the photos I took. However you should check out a site called hidplanet.com for some ideas regarding choosing projectors, light output, choosing ballasts, looking how people did their retros.etc I got a lot of ideas from there.
Btw here is my table at 4am... hehe

I am assuming this is a cheaper option then going with Xenons directly from MB.
