I got mine painted, but I got the red part painted black (not completely) and left the clear as is. Now that I've seen the pic of the clear smoked and the red left alone, I kind of wish I went that route. Hindsight is 20/20 I guess. Either way, it'll look good; much better than stock.

tinting is a good idea if you do it right, i use testor spray tint, you can control now dark it is by the numbers of coats. here is my previous CLK with 2 coats

On my previous c320 i did not tint it but I did body color strip to copy the S class tails
