Just got ahold of a brochure (in French) for the 2003 (current, not new body style) Cabrio. Colors listed are non metallic black (040), white (143), and magma red (586). Metallic colors are Argent adamantin (744)- looks like brilliant silver; Noir emeraude (189) - metallic black; Bleu lapis-lazuli (366) - a dark blue metallic; Rouge ambre (548) - a deep red metallic; Vert vivianite (279) - an aqua blue green and two special order paints Bleu quartz (935) - a grey purple blue metallic; and Vert mineral (814) - a somewhat ugly metallic green. The tops come in one of three colors, black, blue or green.



An interesting designo interior in France is a black and red combination somewhat like on the SLK. The middle seat inserts are red and there are red panels on the side doors. The shift knob is red and the top half of the steering wheel is red. It is a bright bright red in the photos, not muted as is the berry red in the SL500. It actually looks pretty sharp except for the steering wheel and shift knob which are a bit gaudy. Here are the code numbers for the various interior options: 011 (anthracite); 018 (Gris Orion); 032 (Gris Orion/Multi-bleu); 037 (Anthracite/multi rouge; Cuir:211 (Antracite); Cuir 218 (Gris Orion), and Cuir 215 (Quartz). Those are the colors for the "sport" model and I assume cuir means leather as that is what it looks like in the samples.
For the Elegance edition the interior colors ar 411 -anthracite; 412 - bleu galaxie; 415 -quartz; 418 -Gris Orion; Cuir 211 -anthracite; cuir: 215 -Quartz; and cuir 218 - Gris Orion.

A wood accent called Ronce de noyer which looks like a burled walnut is offered on the Elegance model and an aluminum looking accent is offered on the Sport model (Finition aspect carbone).

The brouchure references an Auto Pilot System (APS) stating, "Avec le systeme de navigation automatique APS, le dechiffrage des cartes et les erreurs de parcours appartiennent au passe. Vous programmez votre destinaation sur le visuel de l'autoradio, et l'ordinateur affiche l'iteneraire apres avoir consulte un CD-ROM dans lequel est memorise l'ensemble du reseau routier.

 

It would be interesting to see a W209 in magma red.

 

Last time I tried to post photos there was too much memory to attach them here. If someone can offer some simple instructions on how to get 5 megapixel photos attached I could take some shots of the magma red cabriolet with my digital camera and try to post them.

 

I dont know what your looking at, but those colors are for the old style clk cabrio....I have seen the new euro brochures for the clk cab, and the colors follow the coupe, the only differnce being you can get a two-tone charcoal/alpaca grey interior on the 55 cab you cant get on the coupe.....

You are correct. I just got the brochure in the mail yesterday and it had been represented to me it was to be a brochure for the new cabriolet. As I was looking more carefully at the photos I thought it was odd that the Meredes Star was positioned on the hood rather than integrated into the grill as on the new CLK. I came back to this thread to note the correction, but you beat me to it! Thanks.
