Issue with seat belt helper

Good day everyone. So my wife called me earlier to tell me that the seatbelt helper arm that takes the seat belt closer to you seems to have stopped working. That it sounds like something is trying to move on the inside but it is not coming out. Any ideas what could it be here guys or if there is a common issue with these arms?

Thank you.

"$800"...are you serious? But it sounds like it wants to push out but something is not allowing it to. If it is infact the sensor, isn't that something I could replace?

Thanks.

Does anyone know the procedure to get to that piece. Do I have to remove the back side panel? If so, how? Maybe once I have it open I can see what is happening.

I just checked the WIS and it looks like the whole panel has to come off to get at the piece.

Here are the rest of the instructions. You don't need step 1.2, that's for the Cab. Here is step 1.1.

what did this software cost you if you don't mind me asking, and where did you purchase it? All this information can come in handy.

I believe I bought it for $30 on eBay a few years ago. I didn't even know what I was buying, I thought it was a manual. I had it in my drawer for like 6 months before deciding to install it..lol

The WIS actually covers all MB cars. You just have to make sure your years are included in the one you buy. This is a link to a the same software but it only covers up to 2003. It's just to give you an example of what you have to look for.

Rosette removal? Catch hook?

I am trying to replace my aging belt assembly so the rear panel has to come off. I can't figure out how to get the end of the seat belt presenter off its arm for removal.

The WIS says something about a catch hook but it eludes me......

Not sure what you mean by "end" and "arm" but the triangular plastic piece that the seat belt passes through and the extender arm it is connected to just pull out. Just pull it out until it is free.

Need some help here, I'm trying to replace my seat belt and I couldn't get the bottom panel off, how do you unclip the bottom panel 8. I got stuck on step 15 of the instruction. Thanks

Never mine I figured out, finally removed the old seat belt and install a used seat belt that I bought from Ebay and the seat belt wouldn't retract and I got a SRS warning error. I think there is something wrong with the seat belt that bought that causes the SRS warning. I tried to reset warning with my OBDII but luck. I think the seat belt locked up due to an accident before. Not sure how to unlock the belt. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.
