It's not vinyl, it's real CF. Instead of making a mold and making the entire part out of CF, they lay the CF over the original part. You get pretty much the same results with the main difference being the weight. A part made out of entirely CF will obviously weigh less.

I have seen some nice Cf vinyl wraps also. If it's done correctly, it looks good.

thats what i meant lol but it didnt come out right.

I will give it a try with the same cf vinyl i used for my mirrors and see the results. I was thinking to use white CF but i think it would be obvious fake

Also since this thread has been hijacked already.

Dyno you got any instructions on removing the side skirts?

I think if you're going to use the vinyl, you should go with 3m Di-Noc. That stuff looks pretty official.

I don't mind having my threads jacked, don't worry. I will get you the instructions when I get to work in the morning.

You the man thanks.
I understand this is OD but while you are at it do you mind getting instructions on removing the interior trim since you have already done it...

Hopefully they will be installed this week or next week. I'm waiting on a few more things so I get everything done at once.

Nope, I tried them and the brake lights won't work without resistors. Last time I tried to wire some resistors to try to get LEDs to work in the tails, I blew my SAM. Not trying to cost myself more money, so my shop is going to be installing them.

Has anyone tried dual exhaust without mufflers? I am thinking about leaving everything as is (not replacing spare well) and just pipes to each side from the res. Would this be too loud?

There are a few people who did it that way.

Carlos, 2MCHCAR, deleted his muffler/resonator and installed a borla muffler in the resonators place. I believe he replaced the 2nd cats with 300 Cell Secondary Cats.

Then you have Andy's, M-benz, setup. He deleted his 2nd cats, resonator, and muffler. He installed 2 cherry bombs in the resonators place.

Andy tried it without anything and ended up installing the 2 cherry bombs. I assume because it is too loud. I drove a bit with no muffler/2nd cats/resonator and I could tell you it was not a fun experience. I would get out of the car with a headache from the drone, and my car is only a 320. I couldn't imagine what it would have sounded like with a bigger motor.

The question is, are you going to delete the 2nd cats/resonator also? If you leave them in place and just delete the muffler, it might not be that loud.

Tell me about it. I learned my lesson, now I leave it to the pros. I haven't asked for a price yet, I'll let you know when I find out.

Andy, not that you've had you set up (with the cherries) for a while, are you happy with it or is it still a touch loud?

When I get around to doing my exhaust, I'll be doing a magnaflow x-pipe out to quad tips, with no mufflers, resonators, or secondary cats. the reason im doing is this because i want to get it to as CLOSE to this sound as possible. i realize that thats an amg and my motor isnt capable of that exact sound, but i'd like to try.
