Any Keyless lock problems ?

For the past week, I have been having trouble locking my car with the remote. The first time it happened, I chocked it up to interference of some kind. Now it seems to be happening all of the time. I have to start walking around the car, pushing the button (looking like an idiot) until it finally locks.

Oddly, the unlock button still works perfectly and quickly. So that sort've rules out a battery problem in the remote.

Anyone have any problems with the remote ?

Eich,

When I first had my car (two weeks in August), I experienced the exact same thing you have with your key. Trouble locking but not unlocking. Often, I would have to stick the key in the ignition for the car to "recognize" it (it seemed). Since then, however, I have had no issues. It's quite odd actually, but I guess I can't complain. Watch my key start having problems now that I've said this .

I've had the same issue twice. Once I couldn't lock the car when I left the parking garage for work. Another time I couldn't unlock the car with the remote and had to use the actual key to unlock the door which triggered the alarm. If it happens again I might have to take it in.....not sure what they'll be able to do for me.

Thanks for the responses. This is an irritating little problem. And oddly, today, I've locked the car twice with no problems at all. I tried at a very close distance and also about 15 ft. away and it worked perfectly.

One thing I noticed is if I hold the lock button in a little longer (maybe 1 second or so) it stopped having those problems. Just a thought.

Yes - when I was having the problems, I tried holding the button, pressing it quickly, smacking it off my leg - nothing seemed to work.

Today though, it has been working flawlessly with just a quick touch of the button. Go figure.

I guess just cross your fingers for now. I've had no issues for over 7 months now, so I'm hoping whatever was messed up is ok now. I didn't want to take it to the dealer...they probably would say *can't reproduce problem* or mess/dirty up the car.
