Installing sub and amp on clk350

I am trying to pass a power cable to the amplifier, but having problems finding the way to fit the cable.
I have a clk cabrio and i am upgrading the stock stereo. The headunit is now an alpine, but i dont have any bass. The solution is installing one Rockford Fosgate Amp with a SUB in the trunk.
PS: The cabrio trunk is "sealed" from the interior of the car, adding the subwoofer to the trunk is possible to ear it?! uhmmm
Thanks in advance

Can you share a picture of this?

Once you take out the battery, you're gonna see the black rubber plate on the bottom left, where you see the red amplifier wire going into the cabin.
Here's a close up:
Like one of the thread posters said, you just need to drill the holes in the rubber and run the wires through it, and put it back in place.

I used Jergens instead of vaseline LOL....works great. You gotta use that man , make the job way easier
Jamesbbh,
How did you tune your amp ? what would be the right set up ? The way i have it right now not very happy with it. I have an Alpine 500 watts Mono and a single 12" JL sub.

Nice
Thats what i was looking for. My only fear is if the sub it will be audible in the trunk. I have the complete audio system, head unit, sub and amplifieres to movo into the CLK. Cabrio are all PITA to get cables into the trunk.
I have this two to fit into the trunk.
One of the most good combination for me. Focal produce very good equipment.
Thanks

M-Benz- what exactly do you mean? Is it too loud? or not loud enough? I have a 300W RE audio amp bridged to a rockford 10" and it sounds great. I just turned a song with a lot of bass up and then adjusted the gain back down to where it's not overbearing.
gcoutinho, yes it was a bit*h to get the wires back there but after some searching and a coat hanger I got it back there without having to drill anything.
Here's where I put the amp
Then built the fiberglass enclosure

It is loud but the bass is not clear ... Maybe my gain is too high then ?

Mine is- Line level converter tapped to pick up signal from factory sub still connected--->rca's to amp I put in with factory amp still installed--->external 10" sub with factory 8" still intact. So my line level converter just picks the bass signal up from the factory speaker wires and converts it into a signal readable by my amp then powering my sub. It sounds like you may have some ohms or a filter setting off somewhere. Also, what kind of box is it? Bc sealed boxes tend to provide crisper bass while ported or bandpass boxes lean towards more bass but less precise. Hope that made sense? lol

You don't have to use the line converter because the stock sub already have the low frequency ( I got the signal from here ) then RCA to Alpine Amp 500watts then from amp to the single JL Audio 10" Sub ( Sealed box ) . I think my problem is either the gain or the frequency from the amp is not right .. I might have the distortion that's why . There is a clip from YouTube showing you how to tune ur amp but I still can't get it right . The sounds is not that bad but I feel like I can adjust the bass to more clear ...
Edit : I have made a thread about this back then ... I even pointed out which wires/color to tap and more ...

Ok so if one end of your RCA's are into the alpine amp then what is the other end plugged into? I'm just trying to get a picture in my head.

I know you guys are talking here to add a subwoofer in the truck with an amp. But how can I also add an amp. For the speakers on the doors it doesn't sound that loud.
Please any help!! Also I was wondering if I disconnect the battery it will not ask for a code for the radio later?

First of all, you can disconnect the power without worrying about a radio code. Second, your CLK550 has the Harmon-Kardon system, so there is no analog wiring in the dash for the head unit. Instead, it uses fiber optic cables to send the audio as a digital signal to the amp in the trunk. The amp does the digital-to-analog conversion along with amplification, and then it has high-level audio analog wiring from there to the speakers. So, if you want to keep the stock head unit and add an amp, you have to tie into the high-level outputs of the HK amp in the trunk - even for the door speakers. This mean using an amp that can accept high-level inputs, or use an adapter to convert high-level to low-level (pre-amp) signals.
An alternative is to replace the head unit with an aftermarket unit, then you have to run your own analog wiring to your amps (best to put them in the trunk), then you can tie into the speaker-level outputs there.
