Are the Fog lights interchangeable?

Hello All need your help I hit a Deer last week with my car now it is in the body shop and I am going to try and have the front bumper replaced with the updated front bumper. I need to know if the 2006 and newer fog lights are plug and play with the 2005 fog light pig tails.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. You might as well go for the Clk 63 front bumper. It better looking then mine update AMG bumper.

Don't the 06+ fogs take an H11 connection and the 05- fogs a 9006 connection? How would this be plug and play?

That's wierd, mine 2006 took an H7 bulbs (discovered when I changed it to HIDextra bulbs) and mine pig tails wire have another conversion cable labeled "AMG". Without these cables, I wouldn't able to plug-n-play with the HIDextra bulbs.

Even if they are H7, would they still be compatible with the pre-facelift 9006 connection?

I don't know but since his car is Clk 500 and mine is a clk 500 which mean, both of ours pig tail is probably the same and that's probably the reason why my new style foglight also came with an conversion cable labeled "AMG" so it would be plug-n-play.

I did't think about seeing if I could do the 63 front bumper. I do like that Idea but like I said I need to find out which fog lights will work with the 2005 pig tails as this is what the shop is asking for. If any one has or knows of pictures of the pig tails I am willing to try and make this work.

You're going with the update AMG bumper anyway, either way, the update AMG bumper and the Clk 63 bumper use the same foglights just different cover only. Why don't you just go with HIDextra foglight and your problem is solve. Or the worse case, just cut the wire and re-wire it.

As far as I know, pre-facelift cars only come with 1 9006 connection for the fogs. If you wanted to use facelift fog lights, they would probably need to be spliced in. I doubt they are plug and play.

You probably right where ever you got your info and HIDextra info are the same as your called out H11 for mine foglight. But then I couldn't install the H11 then i checked mine factory bulbs, on the back on the bulbs, it said H7. HIDextra then exchanged me the H7 and the connector fit perfectly. That's the thing about Mercedes, you can not 100% order the right parts without the VIN#.

Thanks for all the great information guys and giving it to me so quickly. I think I will tell them to go ahead and go with the newer bumper and fog lights and if they can not get them to work I may just to the HID upgrade or see if I can find an adapter like this

this allows a 9006 bulb to work with a H11 bulb.

Where can I find this one?
I'm doing the swap for the face-lifted amg bumper in a few weeks.
I have the stock bumper now, do I need something else besides the cable in the picture for the fogs to work?
Thanks!
