Rear Main Seal Question

So I took my car in for an oil change today at the dealer, and they informed me that my rear main seal is slightly leaking oil. They told me that it's not a real big issue right now, but over time it could be problematic. I spoke to a few people and they suggested that I use thicker oil and it would not leak as much. Any ideas on this suggestion?

There isn't a rear main in the world that won't leak sometime. I don't suggest you go to a thicker oil, when you do you reduce the cold start circulation because of the higher viscosity - it's November out there!

When the time comes to replace it, replace it, until then, carry on soldier.

The word is "sometime" which could mean at 100K, 200k miles...etc. I don't know what his car mileages is but of all the cars i owned, never have rear main seal leak problems excepted mine 2006 Clk 500 rear main seal leaked at 20K miles and the valve cover leaked at 10K miles. Mine 2001 Clk 430 with 160K miles and no leak rear main seal yet.
