Car Cover

I will be purchasing a car cover for the winter. My car will be in the garage, I just wanted the cover as a precaution.

To the guys who have used covers before, what's your opinion on MB covers versus aftermarket? If you do use an aftermarket cover, please share some details. Thanks

I also wanted an excuse to get the F14s.

I use the MB cover and it is a nice product compared to some non-MB covers I have seen in the past. I didn't shop around since I bought it at the same time as the car when new.

Wes - I will bet that I am WAY older than u, but even 20 years ago - covercraft technalon was really, really good for outside storage:

http://www.covercraft.com/technalon.htm

Cotton covers worked very nicely on my old 930 turbo which was stored inside...

Drop a PM if any questions. Cheers.

+1. I believe thats what my Z34 is sleeping under in Canada, I have inside storage but have always used a cover. I'm getting one for my CLK this weekend when I get back to Dubai as well (the car sits 5-6 days a week while I travel).

Thanks, that looks like some good stuff. Impact absorption was one of my main concerns. Last thing I need is my girl scratching/denting the car while doing something in the garage.

Any pics of the 930?

It's very convenient. Summit always has fast delivery, I should have it by Monday or Tuesday.

Are you storing the car inside or outside. If inside, I would use one of the flannel covers. If outside I would use one of the weatherproof ones that you get from Covercraft. I have a Weathershield HP that I used for outside and it keeps out everything including UV rays. If your interested, please PM me. I sold the CLK and don't need it.
Also, if the car is outside you want to put something in or around it to keep away the critters. I use stuff called STORE IT RIGHT on my SL and my Corvette and so far no mice.
Good luck.
