Out of pure curiosity, how did the car 'feel' at those speeds? When (if) did it begin to feel like it was getting loose? Or did it remain feeling stable? Do you have any suspension mods?

Thanks.

it was stable.i have koni shocks,H&R springs and sway bars.this car is very slippery and stable when lowered at high speeds.i have alot of track experience on bikes, so i'm use to high speeds and stability issues.hey,kev.i see you want to set up your car for the track.not the best track car,but with that set-up it should be enjoyable.good luck, and have fun

Thank you very much! No, the CLK is certainly not an ideal track car but is a great platform for a daily driver and weekends on the tracks here, it's a perfect comprimise for me. I'm picking up my Koni sport adjustables this weekend (ordered in July...), matching them up with H&R springs and sways and a set of AMG BS strut tower bars. We'll have very similar setups. I've also got a fairly good amount of track experience but not on a bike, I was never that adventurous!

Again, thanks for the reply and comments.

that's what i like in a car right now as well.to be able to do double duty in it,DD and some track.you'll have fun for sure.with that set-up you'll notice the slightest difference between tire brands.it's all about the tires at that point.get the bests ones, but you probably know that already.lol

I've got 4 brand new PZero's on it, about 20km on them. I've had very good luck with them on another car, very predictable tire, should go beautifully with the suspension. What I will almost certainly do is end up buying another set of lightweight wheels for the track and using r-compounds. What does your 500 wear for shoes?

I have the PZeros on my other car, and I like them. But my fav so far are the Michelin Pilots. Currently running pilots on the CLK.

I've had Michelin PS2's and Potenza RE750's, and it's just amazing how sticky they are around the corners!

If I hadn't gone with PZero's again I would have tried the PS2's - they came highly recommended from a few shops here.

They are phenomenal. I have 305s in the rear on other car and they are super quiet even on the highway. Wet traction is also actually real good from my experience with them.
