Mikata's CLK 320

Hi all,

First of, Merry Christmas to you all!

It's been long overdue for me to post some pics of my CLK.
Keep in mind that it's under modification

Current mods are:
Facelift rear taillight, 3 slot AMG grille, LED licenseplate bulbs, LED city lights, 6000K H7 lights, burl glovebox wood trim & 18" AMG rims on Bridgestone Potenza 225/40 18.

Parts that I have bought, but haven't installed yet, AMG spoiler, Comand 2.0, AMG paddleshift steering wheel.

Parts to buy in spring, Bi-Xenon headlights.

As alot of you can tell I don't have the AMG package. I was planning on buying the whole 63 AMG package with quad exhaust but I put those plans on hold.
Im still debating whether to buy the real CLK 63 AMG, C63 AMG, BMW M5 E60, BMW550i E60 or Lexus IS F. The 63 AMG BS still costs a little bit too much.
But I'm still keeping the 320 either way

Thanks to Wes for the help (instructions) with rear taillight uppgrade.

Feel free to comment

/Mike

Merry Christmas Mike! The car looks great. The wheels look like they are sitting nice and flush, what are the offsets?

That steering wheels look awesome! I'm kind of jealous of the shifters. I might have to get this mod retrofitted. Keep me posted on the progress.

Thanks Wes! Merry Christmas!

The wheels are 18" 8.5 offset 35. I don't remember if the front or rear were offset 30 or both were 35.

Yeah I really like the steering wheel too. The steering wheel mod is the mod I really would like to install, no matter what it costs to fit it

I will defininately keep you posted when it's time to install it, maybe even post a video when it's installed and working

/Mike

Hey guys. Do any of you have any experience with these brake rotors:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...AQ:MOTORS:1123

I know these rotors are for W208 but the seller gave me same offer for my W209.

I bought the AMG side skirts this week and I'm planning to buy the amg front bumper next week.
Seems that I'm going with the AMG package after all:-)

Do any of you know a good exhaust muffler/system for quads?
I'm going with one muffler with two tips and a pipe to the other side with two tips.
I have read dynos, kevblah, m-benz threads but as I have understood they have gone with two mufflers.

Thanks!

Brembos were the first rotors I upgraded to when I bought the car. They weren't bad, but what annoyed me was the hub rusting. That's one of the main reasons I switched to the R1s. They have the hub powder coated black. For the exhaust, you can't go wrong with Magnaflow. FYI: I believe I'm the only one with 2 mufflers. Andy has 2 cherry bombs and Kev has 2 resonators.

Thanks Wes, very good to know. I have searched ebay for the r1 rotors but can't find any Do you have a link maybe?

I'm not too familiar with exhaust systems but I don't know if cherry bombs will pass the smog test here in Sweden.
How much does magna flow muffler cost?

Regarding the exhaust system, I'm pretty much after a straight swap without any big modifications.

Magnaflows are cheap, I usually purchase that stuff through summit racing. R1concepts has an eBay account, I just have to check their seller name and get back to you.

Are you going dual/quad or just want to change the muffler? I was thinking you could delete the resonator, cats, and muffler. Install a magnaflow muffler in the middle and out to whatever tips you want.

I'm going "quad" but I can't delete the cats because I won't pass the smog test. It's not real "quad" I know.

My thought was that I'm going with one muffler with two tips and then a pipe from the muffler to the other side of the car with two tips. Are you with?

You should still be able to at least delete the resonators. You seem to be on the right path. What I would do if I were you is try and measure the room you have so you get the correct muffler. Nothing worse than being at the exhaust shop with a muffler that won't fit.

Yeah I hear you on that one
Do you think I should go dual tips or quad?

I have looked at cks performance exhaust and they seem ok?

The CKS exhaust sounds real good. What's the price for the complete package?

I think everyone should go quad.

I guess it's good. I spent about $1500 for my custom setup with installation

Your custom setup was a big job. 900$ just for one muffler with 4 tips seems a bit expensive?

Will the CLK 55 amg muffler fit our standard W209?

That's why I said for $1500 you could get my setup. The 55 muffler should fit, but that's a bit pricey and you might not get the sound you're looking for.
