Yes, I know what you're talking about but I don't think it 50/50 balances out the weight, I'm not standing pat on that comment just yet, it's just a thought based on memory. I'm pretty sure that if you have a bare high offset wheel it's a hell of a lot easier to tip it over front face rather than rear face. Another thing I can test when I get home

I'm looking forward to installing my AMS pulley as well but will be keeping a very close eye on it, I'm starting to feel like it's a better product than some previous users feel. Time will tell.

Hey Kevwood,

Are you planning on upgrade your brake? I went on a canyon (5500 ft. high elevation) run over the weekend and my stock brake was a joke. It over heat, burns and smell very bad. My brake is stock excepted for the blue racing brake fluid. Btw, the car didn't run well in automatic mode. It alway in 1 gear too high. I finally switched it over to manual mode and it was awesome responding to the throttle.

Good info to get, but too bad to hear pal.

Yeah, got brake rotors and pads shipped over as well, I use them as long as the car stays NA. If I really end up liking this car and go with a SC then I will of course most likely go with a Brembo BBK.

Question on running in the manual mode, you mean you were shifting manually right, selecting the gears you want and not putting it in drive, correct? I'm asking because when I hear 'manual mode' I think of the AMG's that have the three settings, S/C/M.

Yeah, I don't mean it like manual mode on the AMG cars. On my car with 7-speeds, I hold the gate shifter to the left for 2 seconds and the ECU pick the best gear for the fastest ecceleration. From there I just tap the gate shifter to the right for upshift and to the left for downshift. It was really sweet when i'm in this modes because i'm always around the 3000-4000 rpm. In this modes, the engine power braking kick-in also. When I left it in the automatic modes, in some corners, my rpm drop below 2000 rpm.

Right, gotcha. I do the same quite often when I go for a spirited drive, it acts like a completely different car. Question for you, do you use steering wheel shift buttons of the shift knob (I presume the shift knob from your above statement)? I use the shift knob and tap up and down, I find it far easier and more natural than using the steering wheel mounted buttons. After I mod the actual paddles on it may be a different story.

Wait a minute, your is tap up and down and not left and right? I use the shift knob because I don't have the steering buttons or paddles. The paddles would be nice because then you have 2 hand on the steering wheel at all time.

By tapping up and down I mean through the gears, yes, mine is the same as yours, left and right movement. It looks like my paddle mod might be squashed, no one wants to make a damn steering wheel for me because my interior isn't black. Guess I could just rip apart and shove them in my whimpy stock wheel. If I change my interior out, then I guess I can get an aftermarket steering wheel...

Tell me about it. After months of hearing 'no problem', I hear, 'too difficult'. Life goes on, I'll just order one of those fancy slip covers from Pep Boys, that'll be bada$$...

Is that factory on the 550? Are they the little black ones like the CLK55's got of the larger silver ones?
