No swirl marks. I did the ONR wash on Sunday morning and 2 coats of #425 since. Also conditioned the leather twice since Sunday.

Needless to say, the car was still filthy when all was said and done, but at least some of the salt washed off...I suppose.

Get yourself some ONR. You might go through a butt load of towels initially, but it will be worth it.

Got snow?

I'm winning the battle thanks to dedicated snow tires, but it looks like I could use some of that #425!

LOL!!!!!!

You guys are funny as hell!!!!

"Sex" method, "Rape" method..... LOL!!!!!!!!

Dynomite, sorry, I'll call you Wes from now on.. seems weird everyone calling you Wes and I'm calling you Dynomite the whole time! lol!

Anyway, what I do is use the #425 to clean my car down. It is loaded with polymers and is an extremely slippery liquid so it works to remove crap off the car very well indeed without encouraging the contaminants to scratch the car (but work carefully anyway guys!).

The 425 also leaves a very glossy finish.

After applying 425, I wipe the car down with another clean, dry MF while employing the "sex pest buff" technique (lol!... I know you buggers are having a laugh at me about that one!).

The sex pest buff technique removes the streaks of 425 that you can't see.
If you want to see the streaks I am on about, apply some 425 with a MF and then wipe dry. Then breathe on the bodywork and generate some condensation. You will then see the streaks of 425 that I am talking about.

Most people don't think about these streaks because you never see them, unless your car is parked outside on a cold damp night, then you will probably see them as the dampness forms on your roof.

After the sex pest buff method, breathe on the panel again... you will notice that the condensation from your breath is even and consistent with no streaks.

This is when I am happy to apply wax to the car.

So, in all, I use 425 to clean the car, sex pest buff to get the surface flawless and streak free, then wax on top of that, locking in the shine. I think anyway - but I'm sure there are hardcore detailers out there that might disagree.
I then apply another layer of 425 and do the sex pest buff again to leave the super slippery surface.
Reason for going over with 425 after wax is because the 425 actually leaves a more slippery surface than my #2685 wax!
So now, I always put a layer of 425 on the car after waxing.

I always pay close attention when working and always observe the paintwork regularly.

So far, after over a year of employing this cleaning method, I have not scratched, swirled or damaged the surface at all, and, well, my car looks like you see it in my pics.

Thanks. I'm like a kid in a candy store with this stuff. I separated all my MF towels into 3 categories (body, windows, and wheels). I keep them in 3 ziploc bags with the bottle of #425 in my trunk. I have washed MF towels twice this week. I bought some Chemical Guys Microfiber Wash cleaning detergent and it works great. Thanks again for everything.

Heehee, I have various MF's for different duties too.

I also seperate them by their age.

Older MF's have a slightly courser feel.
I use those for the final "slip" test to see how slippery the finish is after I finish.

Glad to help you out, bud.

I like to make sure my CLK brothers are looked after around the world.

- 1/2" rash + nicks on passenger front wheel, pothole

Anyone else experiencing a terrible winter?
Nope. I have a 4X4 Tahoe with snow tires for those days. CLS is safely tucked away under her car cover in the garage.

By the time spring comes around, I'm going to want to sell this damn thing.

I just keep telling myself that a scuffed up CLK is still better than no CLK.

But seriously, I might just pay for a really nice detail in the spring to get all these scratches out, and maybe a little rash repair on the rims.

Hope so, spring fever is always a pain right around this time every year.
For wednesday now is looking like a 48 degree day. I hope so cuz that'll be warm enough for me to wash down some of the cars.
