2003 CLK 500.....please read

Picked up my wife's new 03 CLK 500 last night. Much better vehicle than her 01 CLK 430. The car is Alabaster white with Charcoal interior with Chrome wheels, wood steering wheel, wood shift knob, nav system, changer. Just a nice car. Oberklasse in Ft Worth installed a dual exhaust system on the car. It now has quad exhaust tips and really looks balanced. Oberklasse did a GREAT job with the install with only minor modification to the rear facia. Just a great look.
Being from the old school(Tim Taylor Tool Time Graduate) I wanted to check the oil. Am I blind, could not find the "Check Oil Dip Stick". So I got the manual. The oil is checked through the Display on the Dash. Am I missing something?????

they're taking over....

Yeah,

The oil is controlled all my comptuer. Soon, we won't even be able to enjoy driving our cars. We'll just sit back and chill.

I'd like to see that exhaust mod, I like the quad exhaust. My dealer has an SL55 which he showed me today, it sounds really good....AMG is sweet! I'll take a CLK55 though.

Hopefully these instructions will lead you to a picture of my wife's new CLK 500 with the quad exhaust.
1. Stay in this website
2. Go to section entitled-Mercedes-Benz Parts and Accessories
3. Click on Aftermarket Tuners
4. Click on Oberklasse
5. Click on Oberklasse Upgrades by Make and Model
6. Click on CLK 208
7. Scroll down until you see a white 03 CLK 500
8. That is Jo Ann's car

The costs of exhausts and installation was about $2000.00

Make the rear of the CLK look balanced

Let me know what you think

Frisco,

Could you please post some pictures, so we can see your 18" Monoblocks. Thanks to AMG BRED we saw 19" already.

I'm considering those wheels, once my CLK is delivered, not sure about the size yet - 19" look better, 18" - more practical (at least in NY area)

Thank you.

Yeah quad exhaust looks pretty damn hot.

It's actually going to take me a couple weeks to get some better pictures than are already displayed on this site (the sticky picture thread in this forum), because my old digital camera actually died earlier this week and I am waiting for a new D-SLR to arrive. I'll take some better pics when I get it, but it looks like it's going to be 2-3 weeks because it's a new model and is backordered due to demand.

Still on order, will be in the dealer anyday now, but it's a 03 model, my sales ordered the wrong year

Oh, and I'll take some pictures of my W208 tomorrow when it's sunny outside

To all MB and CLK lovers(especially the new 209), Jo Ann's new CLK 500 is really a nice vehicle to drive. The new quad exhausts setup should add a little more HP, maybe 6-8 more horses; but more importantly the car has a better exhaust sound and certainly a better look when viewing the CLK from the rear. The Chrome wheels and the 20% window tint really adds to the look of the Alabaster White. The window tint and the white color of the car will be appreciated during the HOT Texas Summers. Will close for now. Thanks Frisco for posting the pictures.

Everyone have a GREAT Mother's Day

quad exhaust

To put the muffler on the right side in, did you have to cut the sheetmetal that holds the spare tire? Did you have to rework the bottom or modify the bottom of the car besides cutting part of the back bumper?

Thanks in Advance

You might give Charles at Oberklasse in Ft Worth a call and he can give you all the details about the dual exhausts install. His telephone number is 817-334-0223.
