Every time i play music now a scratching noise comes from the center speaker.
Anyone with the same issue?
Is there a DIY on how to remove the mesh grille and i look for myself.

i am hoping this wont be an expensive fix...

Not too hard to remove.

You can remove the center speaker grill fairly easily, but you need to be careful. The grill itself is very thin metal with its edges wrapped around a much heftier plastic form. When you pry it up you need to make sure you get in far enough to lift up on the plastic and not the metal because it will bend real easily. The whole assembly is held in by six plastic clips that are part of the plastic frame. There are two on the front edge and two on each side. At the back by the windshield there are just two hooks that slide under, so when you release the 6 clips it just comes up and forward with the speaker attached. The clips are diamond shaped, like the ones that hold the fuse box cover on the side of the dash by the driver's door, but much larger. You also have to be careful not to dent your dash pad. I used a very thin metal putty knife - so thin it was sorta flexible. Then I laid a piece of old cotton t-shirt across the gap where the speaker mesh meets the dash at the front edge and pushed the putty knife in until it stopped - at least 3/8". That way the putty knife wrapped itself with the t-shirt. Then pry up and get our fingers under there and pull up, being carful only to pull up on the plastic. It's a real tiny little speaker.
