prior to this, i was thinking about just using gloss black vinyl for where the diffuser was going to be.

eh i tried that on my bumper. It doesnt look much at all. I cant even tell on mine because its black lol

if you are not confident with your cutting i would suggest using a heat gun and making small cuts while pulling the vinyl.
That way you can be safe of not scratching the bumper.
