Sorry guys. I'm a CLS driver but my wife mentioned that she kind of likes the CLK so thought I would check with you folks on this forum. Guess that takes care of that !!!!

In a bizzare twist to this, I was talking to a MB product test driver (from Germany) on the plane on Monday (MB does a ton of testing in various gulf countries) and we got takling about the new E and C coupes. He said that they expect the C coupe sales to destroy the E coupe and if so, already discussed the idea of re-launching the AMG only 'CLK' in 2016...
This of course goes against the tighter model 'offering' that MB is headed towards (aka, C sedan and coupe/E sedan and coupe and the new S sedan and coupe - replacing the CL name plate). Maybe the idea would be to offer a limited Black Series run?
Personally, I think the CLK/E coupe (or whatever you want to call it) days are numbered with the introduction of a proper C coupe unless a proper E coupe (based on the E platform, not the C as the current one is) is introduced. I like the E coupe but that's probably only because I haven't sat behind the wheel of a new C coupe yet

The C coupe is smaller so people wanting something bigger, but don't want to spend the money that a CL costs, will still continue to buy the E coupe. Plus I know a lot of people that don't like buying entry level models, so I don't think it'll be affected by much.

That's a good point Dino but how much bigger is it really? Not much... Definitely a brand/model distinction but a true E coupe platform would suit the entry better. According to the guy I spoke with, even MB expects the E coupe to fail which makeme wonder why the heck they even brought it to the ball? It'll be fun to watch and see how this plays out over the next few years. Personally, I really like it

The new C coupe is a very nice looking car. I was so put off by the old C coupe and the CLC (hatchback C's) that I swore I'd never buy one, but, this new one is really quite nice. Still prefer the E coupe, it's the 'proper' replacement to the CLK IMO.
