Things to check when buying '05 CLK 320

Last week I test drove an '05 CLK 320 Cabriolet with loads of goodies and 42k miles for 21,990. I'm ready to go back and buy next week but I would like to know of any problem areas or signs I should inspect or common problems. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Personally I would take it a local mechanic and let them inspect the vehicle just to make sure everything is in working order.

I got a mint 04 clk500 for 17500. Always check Kelly Blue book and offer no more the $1000 above wholesale tops. I also had a Mercedes shop do a pre-purchase inspection.

Thanks for the advice. How many miles were on your 500?

21,990 is retail cost. You never pay retail cost. offer him private party low. 16810-17400

Only problem with that is that its at a "no-haggle" dealership. I'll call them up and see if I can haggle anyway, or just look somewhere else.

Edit: KBB is showing private party value at 23,000 and retail at 25,570.

Retail:
http://www.kbb.com/used-cars/mercede...&mileage=42000

Private:

Don't shop at no haggle places.
Tons of these cars on the market.

2006 CLK350
I got a 06 CLK350 with everything. Blutooth, nav, bixenons that turn, ipod connection.. anything else you can think of for 25. With 36k miles and I'm still disappointed I didn't get a bigger motor.

CLK 320
I got my 05 320 with 35K mi for $19.5K. Just had a sunroof, no xenons or anything else. Also, it was a CPO, so I had a warranty for bit.

This one has, I think, every available option other than the parking aid. From the listing:
"Keyless Go/Touch Entry, Navigation, One Owner, Leather, Insulated All Season Fully Automatic Top, Xenon Headlights, Heated/Cooled Seats, Satellite Radio, CD/CD Changer, Harman Kardon Premium Sound, Wood Grain Interior Package, Home Link, Dual Power/Memory Seats, Traction Control, Premium Wheels,"
