Removal of black plastic on rear bumper
Anyone know if the black plastic section on back bumper comes off easily and how to remove it or is it fused to the bumper?
I would like to take it off so i can put carbon fiber in that area.
this link shows the area i am talking about:

That black plastic piece is literally glued onto the bumper. I recently had to do the quad exhaust cutouts on the passenger side, and I bought a dremel and just cut right through it.

a member on the board did this mod... I thought he said something about clips or screws holding it on, but if glue, then heat and fishing line is the answer.

Thanks again for your help. the CF looks really nice on your car. My car is Brilliant silver and i was going to do black if i did it.
I really don't want to have to remove it. Did you remove yours when you put it on your car? If you put it on the car as is...was it hard to do it? Did you use a heat gun or hair dryer or something or just adhere it over the black part as is?

hey i want to do this, cut my bumper for the quads. the dremel give you any problems cutting your bumper? and 2nd question, you only cut the right side correct? because the left side is already big in of for the 2tips.

For a clean look, make sure to bevel the edges of the plastic, so that the edge actually tapers inwards, so you don't see the rough edges.
The job might be tougher for you since you'll need to make you left cutout big enough for two tips, and then cut the right side to match the left side. See if you can find someone with a dual-tip cutout to let you trace the size o the opening.
