My Silverstar Ultra review

H11SU SilverStar Ultra: The brightest and whitest light. Up to 50% brighter, up to 40% more downroad visibility and up to 50% more sideroad visibility
I am hesitant to get HID with ballast after hearing all the error stories.
what do you think guys?
I have previously bought Sylvania Silver Star (not the Ultra) and do consider them a worthwhile upgrade.
If more frequent replacement is a trade-off and since the 550 is new to me, I have no idea if changing bulbs is likely to be a significant issue or not..?

No xenons on your 550?
] and burred walnut trim etc. etc. but not Xenons.I have no idea if this is such a hi-tech beast that messing with the headlamps is even sensible. After only a few days, I am still learning the controls.

I used to live in Calgary....gotta miss Stampede Week

You are a Flames supporter. I am a terrible person, used to drive 175 miles to Edmonton in the depths of winter to watch Gretzky and his crew.
If you are disappointed in Sylvania Silverstar Ultras like I was because they only last under a year, get the SOLUX bulbs. They're a noticable improvement in brightness and a fair amount whiter than OEM (similar to the ultras), but they don't burn out real fast. Their claim is they last as long as standard OEM bulbs. At $50 a set for ultras, I wish I would have realized that the ultras burn out so fast. The solux are about the same price, but (according to solux) they last up to 4x longer than ultras. Oh, and they're not illegal and they're not obnoxious/blinding...just better lighting.
