Well I am from California so there is no real threat to cold temperature unlike in the east coast with freezing temperatures hahah but since i dont have a second set of rims (yet) I just wanted a tire that would be safe in the rain along with great traction for summer haha

I changed my tires in Costco, and cost around $900+ for PS2, I think that's too expensive, so I will try so cheaper tires next time. Any good suggestion? Are the tires you guys mentioned above cheap and good? Or around the same price?

I see set of 4 selling in TR cost around $500, what do you think?

Like Sumitomo HTR Z II and Yokohama?

Something like that should be fine unless you are tearing it up through canyon twist and turns, or slalom racing every weekend. A decent set of tires can be had for 5-700.00. I look for a good quiet, comfortable ride, and a nice thread design for rain traction. TR and DTD are really great places to shop tires. I have purchased from both and have had nothing but great service.

i've gone through a bunch of brands, vredestein ultrac, bf g-force, michelin pilot, general exclaim uhp but my favorite for traction in the wet roads with less road noise has to be continental dws and second fav, toyo proxes 4. i've also had pirelli scorpions on my suv and they suck badly in the rain and now have nitto nt and they've got awesome traction and a very cool tread design...

I put a set of the DWS on the daughter's car and she loves them. Where she goes to college is a definite four season area. No complains. Just may be my next set for the MB.

For all of you running the 452s, I have one rear available and it's brand new. Specs are 265/30/19. Shoot me an offer, I just want to get rid of this thing.

I bought a 2005 CLK-320 cabriolet with Continental ContiSportContact 17" tires, and
after three weeks, and a noticeable vibration, discovered that one of the tires wasn't a match to the other three.

Dealer is replacing the errant tire, and recommending new tires. The car was sold with
so so used tires, all 17".

I had the impression that CLK tires are customarily staggered. What do you folks recommend for my sweet new car? Staggered or not? 17" 18" 19". If the tire size is changed, what other things need modification?

I priced Michelins at Costco for $947. They said Bridgestone were more expensive but they didn't have matching tread.

My inclination is to tolerate the current tires for a while and save up for both new tires and new rims. All ideas are most welcome. Thanks.

Tires: Sticky

I did check it but didn't find it spoke directly to the questions I asked. Thanks for replying.

If you check the thread you will see that everyone has staggered tires. The size of the wheels is purely personal preference, we can't tell you what size to go with. Obviously with bigger wheels comes less tire. Your driving roads will usually help dictate this. Nothing else needs to be done when changing tires.

The sticky was made to avoid threads like this.

Had a set of Toyos last, but they would not stay balanced for more than a few months, so I replaced them with Goodyear Eagles and cannot belive how much better they ride. Almost one year and no need to rebalance yet.

Got Continentals on my 19s. Love em, they don't wear too quick and they are much quieter than the Falkens. Bfg makes good rubbers too.

Been running P-Zero's for years and love them but would like to try a set of Nitto Invo's if I could het my hands on a set the right size. The guys running them here rave about the performance vs cost. Tires get chewed up and melted here pretty quick.
