Help with wheels and tires for CLK 500

I have been lurking for a while here and this is a great group

I have a bone stock 04 CLK 500 Black - that is my wifes car

my fun car is a 68 Chevelle with a 427 cu in big block

her CLK is on bald tires and I promised her some new wheels and tires

I like the MRR GT 1 in chrome that some of you have
but i have no idea where to get the best price on them

also I have no idea what kind of tire to get
she needs an all season tire that we can leave on year round

I dont let her drive in snow but we live in St Louis and we have *****ty winters

the tire issue is my main problem but if any of you could recommend an on line place that ships the wheels with the tires mounted and balanced

thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum. You have a great 68 there, I would love to see some pics if you have them available.

I bought the MRRs that I had off eBay and the usually give you the option of shipping with tires. What size are you planning on getting? For tires I recommend Tirerack or discounttiredirect. You also might be able to find some wheels you like on their sites.

Welcome to the group. I would shop a bit for the tires. Like Wes said above, TR and DTD are really competitive with their prices on tires.

But if I remember correctly, Element has free shipping. Do they mount and balance for free?

The V12s are great tires, but only for summer. They blow in the cold.

Also, I'm not sure how your wife drives but I wouldnt buy 19s for my girl. Bent wheels are a headache to deal with.

Once I get through the General's Exclaims (summer tire), I'm going with the Continental DWS for my summer rig.

Haoleboy, Have you checked the thread all about what tire are you running on your W209?

225/35 tire are WAY too narrow for the 9.5" wide rim. You can go with that size in the front, but you should go 255/30 for the rear.

Furthermore, is there a specific reason you are going with those wheels? I ask because those are priced very similarly to Forgestars, but are much lower quality...

The wheels are ok. Not sure about the brand in tires though. Also the tire sizes are a bit small. The most common sizes are 235/40 front and 265/35 rear for 18s.
