Tow Hook License Plate Mount
I wanted to share some pics of the Rho-plate tow hook license plate mount I just received. I have been pulled over 4 times in the past 2 weeks for no font plate and tints, so I figured I would at least take care of one of the two.
The mount is really easy to install with 15 different mounting points. I was able to find one that gave plenty of clearance and wouldn't touch the bumper. I have been thinking about using a CF plate frame, but wasn't sure. Let me know what you guys think. The pictures were taken before that car wash, it's not that dirty anymore.![Big Grin](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Thanks. They are really cracking down here. I haven't been bothered once in the past year. Fortunately I have a family member card so I don't get any tickets, it's just the hassle of being pulled over.
It costs about $70 shipped. Here is the link http://www.rhoplate.com/Products-MB.html.

IMO, I like the way it looks in the front, but not from the side profile (but it seems that you have no choice without drilling holes in the bumper). The brackets look sturdy enough, but I would like to see how it holds up at high speeds in Mexico (once the 32K goes in).

Everything look pretty solid, so I think it will hold up. Only PITA is that I had to take it off when I washed the car to reach that portion of the bumper. I agree about the side profile. I was thinking about painting the shaft black and covering the silver screws with some black license plate screw caps.
Anybody have an opinion on the plate frame? With or without?

I don't know about that set up.... kinda draws your eye off line... but it is a great idea for a temp tag solution. How often will you be driving with the plate on? I understand your not wanting to drill the bumper, but I don't think you will like walking up to you car everyday with the tag off center.
if I lived in a state where a front plate was required, I would either mount the frame permenantly or put on a euro plate frame and then 3m your NJ plate with carbon fiber frame to that, then if you wanted to run without plate or at a show you could have a nice custom Eurotag to put on.
just an idea...

I have this same plate holder on my 1-Series and it held up just fine on the Jersey Turnpike. I wasn't on the limiter or anything, but was well above the prescribed rate of travel! I say get one!
