2004 W209 CLK500 Convertible
No Xenon makes me sad.
The more I read these threads, the more inadequate I feel. 
I purchased a near perfect CLK500 after doing tons of research.
However, I didn't notice to buy one with Xenon bulbs.
Everyday I walk up to car and feel a slight sting.
I find it funny that I'd spend 1k on light bulbs that only I and people on a internet forum would notice. Why are these headlights sooo expensive. My buddy's VW Xenons were like $600, on the W208 their like $300.
I thought I'd be over modding cars after I grew out of my 20s and 30's.

It's not the end of the world. We drive cars most will never have the opportunity too. Be happy with that. I would be willing to bet that when someone drives next to you on the the road they won't be saying " look mom no Xenons"...

I do the same and Mercedes cars without AMG body kit. You will never see me buy any Mercedes without the AMG body. I don't think it ugly in general but when compare to a model with AMG body kit, I always wonder to why the owners didn't pick the model with AMG body kit.

Feel the way, I've got halogens but I'm getting xenon headlights in a month or so. $2000, worth it if you ask me

i've been debating this mod for the lifetime that ive owned the car. still cant pull the trigger on it, could never justify 1k just for lights, lol yes pretty awesome lights but still cant do it. id rather invest 1k elsewhere on the car. maybe as a last and final mod, but come that time, i think i will be ready for a new challenge.

Yea, I think I'll just sell the 2004 later and get a 2005-2006 hardtop with the upgraded console and all the features I now need. Get me a white CLK like Kevwood with a black vinyl top.

Xenon-less W211 E55??? WTF? That stuff is just weird. In Europe, i think xenons were standard option, if even not, i would doubt you can find any without.
Anyway miamiamg, how do you compare the E55 beast to the C63?

Stock vs stock, i would definitely give the edge to the C63. My E55 had the RENNtech stage 1 (Larger pulley & ECU). That was definitely faster than my car now, but the C63 is very tune friendly, so i guess that evens it out.
As for handling, it isn't even close. The C63 handles much better than the E55 did.

2005 CLK 55 AMG
I don't have them either. When I bought the car I was a bit disappointed but I had them in my RX-8 and my other current Mazda 3. They draw some attention. The car gets enough attention like it is and it's cheaper/lighter to maintain. I always liked the look of the half and half headlights. It's the same headlights than the CLK DTM. So no i don't feel too bad about it. There was a nice set for sale not so long ago for 900$
