BS Body Conversion

I've been away from the forum for a bit and was just taking a look at the part list thread. I still have my w209 and have been thinking that I'd keep the car for my son as his first car. I'd like to do a BS bodykit conversion with him as a project if the cost is reasonable, but I dont have a good feel for the material costs and the cost associated with the rear fender/gas cap area. Have any of you done it and have any links or info you can share?

hey ... long time Frisco... nice to see an OG back on the board. don't mind klinh he can't help himself...

I don't think anyone has done a blackie conversion, it would be crazy expensive. there was a guy from one of the tuning groups that did a wide body but it was not BS it think he had a Brabus front end. the car was the same color as yours. check the photo thread here and on mbonline.

still rocking all the kleeman mods? that's some car to give a kid as his 1st car

Wrong. There was a canadian guy in toronto that did a BS conversion as they are not available up north. The procedure was a struggle for him as he had to order in the rear quarter panels and have them welded in; structural reinforcement; trunk tray mod; BS rear axels etc etc....it was a huge project. I'll try to dig up the old thread. It was a shop car...

I think someone from the 55 forum did the conversion. I thought I saw a thread on it - someone from Florida.

Here you go...............all I did were do a "search" and look what i found. Why isn't that some people are offended by it when asked them to do a search? Since, I have to do a search anyway to get the info, why not you just do it since you want the infos? I don't get it !!!!!!!!!!!

Wow I do remember that post after seeing the finished picture in front of the office bldg.... just didn't put it together with the conversion... good sluething Klnh

My take away from the thread goes back to my original answer...
extremely expensive!
......................... "................... ............... ............ ........... .........

...In parts cost alone we are at almost $13,000 in case anyone else is thinking about doing this to their 63...that was before labor and well before he ran into the suspension issues., ouch!

That is out of control... To build a replica? Don't get me wrong it is amazing. But really?

That's just parts, not labor and fabrication.
