2005 CLK 320
Description of the various CLK Editions

Just bought a 05 CLK 320 Cab. and I was surprised by the amount of blank buttons on the dash cluster.

The PO said that it was a “Signature” series – what were the other variants, and what did each come with? I have heard of “designo”

I tried a search on here and elsewhere, but couldn't find anything

I have an 06 "facelifted" CLK500 Cabriolet?

I think a lot of the buttons are for options that aren't offered in certain countries.

If you're talking about the buttons above the radio, I've never seen a CLK with them all used. The most I've seen is Heated seats, Ventilated seats, lock, un-lock, ESP, alarm off, headrest drop and rear sunshade. That leaves what, 4 empty?

That's interesting to know. Even the hand-book only shows the heated/vented seats as being the missing ones for me.

I see one mentioned for a sun-shade, which I assume is for the coupes.

Out of curiosity is it possible to retrofit the heated seats? If I were to pry off the blanks, would the wiring be already there for the heated seats? I’m presuming that I would need different seats and that I wouldn’t be so lucky to have heaters pre-installed, yet not hooked up.

Yea you'd have to get heated seats from somewhere and install them. If MB put the heaters in there they would hook them up and charge you for them haha. Some of the wiring might be ppresent behind the dash but my guess is that's it.

I think I feel the next round of mods coming on
