Sensational spy pictures in the current issue of Auto Express magazine prove that the German firm is determined to strengthen its grip on the executive coupé market.
Entry-level editions will rival the likes of BMW's 3-Series coupé, while flagship cars will challenge Jaguar's XK8. Codenamed C209 and due to debut officially next month, the CLK could use air suspension, 4Matic all-wheel drive and electronic brakes.
Central to the latest line-up will be a five-strong engine range of four petrol units and a diesel. The entry-level model, a 2.0-litre CLK 200K, will produce 163bhp. It will be joined by a 197bhp 2.3 CLK 230K, a 218bhp 3.2 CLK 320 and a flagship 306bhp 5.0-litre CLK 500K.
From launch, the only diesel will be a 2.2-litre four-cylinder 220 CDI. In 2003, the CLK range will be extended further with the addition of an all-new cabriolet. An AMG edition will also be offered, powered by a 5.5-litre supercharged V8 producing more than 350bhp.

CLK55 and Yukon Denali
Auto Express Pics
OK- I finally got my hands on the Auto Express, Issue 684, and there are NO photos. This is the first release this year and NO PHOTOS of the Clk. I will try and locate last months and will post pics when I get it. This site is still phenomenal.
