Turning off electronic climate control

Is there a quick way to completely turn off the climate control ? The only thing I can see is to manually turn the blower speed down until "0" appears in the display. This wouldn't even be so bad except that you can't hit the blower speed buttons fast. They only seem to respond when you press them slowly.

Germans and their lack of an "off" button I don't think there is any other way to turn it off other than the blower. And you're right, the thing responds very slowly if you try and push it fast. Trying to play with it can get dangerous if you're driving fast on the freeway.

Firstly, this system is an automatic A/C and climate control. Which means that you dont really have to switch it off and on all the time. You can have it running and simply switch off and on your ignition in the summer if you are using the A/C all the time. You dont have to worry about the initial load on the compressor and so forth, cause its all taken care of by the electronics.

Secondly, if you press the AUTO switch and keep pressing it for 3 seconds, the system should switch off automatically.

Yes, I know that I can just leave the system on all of the time and it will try to maintain the temperature that is set. However, sometimes the system just doesn't do what I want to do and it blows air when I don't want any.

I tried pushing the auto button for over 3 seconds and unfortunately, it doesn't do anything.

An off button would have been really nice. At a minimum, when I press and hold the fan down button, it should go to zero without me having to continually hit the button slowly.

When I push and hold the temperature up and down buttons, the temperature will go up and down quickly. The same should be true for the fan speed.

Agreed. This would have be acceptable if there was no off button.
