another 2nd cat delete thread!

Hi all, I know some may be annoyed by another thread on this, but after searching through the old threads, I am confused with all the conflicting opinions.

Got an 06 clk500 with all factory exhaust, has the dual tip muffler with the Amg logos which looks pretty good IMO.
Anyway, I'm looking for just a little more growl when I get my foot in it. Not really caring about a few horse power. Some folks say "don't bother, 2nd cat delete doesn't sound different" , and some say it does. WTF! Is it worth it or not? The only videos I seem to find have either all cats removed or both muffler upgrade and 2nd cat delete.

Anyone have experience with only that one mod? Thanks much in advanced!

If sound is all you care, just drill a hole in the muffler. It cheaper, faster and DIY.

I agree. Just do it. After I did mine I have to drive with the windows down because the exhaust sounds so sick. FYI: It should sound similar to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ClA_...eedwll&list=WL

The 55's and 550 sound much better than the 500 which is what I have.
I did the resonator and 2nd cat delete on my 500 and sounds better than stock but nothing the like 55 in video.
overall Im happy.

That was my next question, does the 550 have a diff. muffler, cause that video above sounds better than I would imagine my 500 would with those upgrades.

deleting just the 2nd cats makes it very mildly louder. barely noticeable sound...
