Stock amplifier broken....will bose amplifier work??
Just like the title says....I have an 06 clk500 and my stock amplifier stopped working.....the dealer wants nearly 2,000 dollars for a new one, i found a few for sale that are used but do not know if they will work and or fit in my car. Will the bose amplifier be a direct replacement and what other model amplifiers can be used?

Before you do anything there is one question to clarify.
Is your car pre or post MORF?
If it is post MORF you have the new MOST bus and you cant use any BOSE amplifers (D2B bus).
BUT - it leaves you with many options!
You can go to a specialist dealer and get a Mobrigde interface, from there on you can connect any aftermarket amplifer and really make a nice stereo.
Or you can go from the Mobridge to the JBL MS8 and get Logic7 immidiately.
Actually it is only your and your installers imagination that set the limit.
Or - you go to your MB dealer and pay the 2000$ and leave with a (sad) smile...

Replacement stock amps are easy to come by, changing the system can be done too as clk63DK mentions.
We are mObridge specialists, and can guide you to someone to change the amp to non-stock, but also be prepared for some expenses if that is the way you want to go. A checklist of things need to be done, and while not crazy expensive, they are not the least expensive either. Replacing the stock amp with another stock amp is always less money.
