Picked up the new CLK500 on Saterday. WOW!! Better than I expected! Had to drive out of town to pick her up so she has a whopping 200 miles on her. Everything is great so far, except for a small dead spot on the windsheild that the wipers miss. This car is too cool. So glad I did not buy another E.
My dealer told me I was not due for service until 10,000 miles. He also told me no break-in period (wrong, book says 1,000 miles). Did any of y'all get your oil changed after the first 1,000 miles or so? Benz used to make you bring it in I beleive around 1,200 miles before they started picking up the bill for service.
Did any of y'all get your CLK's key-less go in credit card format? I still have to haul around that key. Can you order it?
Thanks for your help,
David

I always changed the oil after the first thousand, but with the improved manufacturing processes, it might not be needed....I still do it for my own piece of mind.
The dealer was right about the 10k service interval...its also based on 12 months if that happens first. MB changed their policy on the FFS after the dino oil class action suit.
Follow the FFS if you go thru extreme driving conditions and it shows needing service before the 10k on the odometer.
