Not good for sales. I see the BMW dealerships capitalizing on this one for sure.
Heck last time I visited a BMW dealership in the ML, they were harping about BMW quality and in a round about way knocking the 3 point star.
I remember solid lifter cars of old days had the cam round off due to wear, we just put a new performance cam in and were on our way to modding heaven...... I guess if the metal bits wear off in small abrasive chunks and go through the oil system bye bye rings/bearings.

Interesting to see how it plays out. Youd think there would have been a lot more cases of failures if this was broad - might just be a case off mass manufacturing defects, happens to everyone sometimes.
