Did you just put your muffler back on? Or do you have a borla/magnaflow?

Just ordered Borla 400286 DI/DO. It's got an internal merge X. Hopefully it will sound good.

Seems like your setup is similar to the one Kevblah was running.

Everything seems the same except yours is single in/dual out and mine is dual in/dual out.

Great info in this thread, I think I will be considering some of the "cheaper options".

I have a relatively off topic exhaust tip question, but it doesn't warrant its own thread.

Did they put AMG exhaust tips as standard on the 06 CLK 500? I've been getting mixed information online, some are saying they put AMG tips on all of them, but other pictures I see show the single oval exhaust.

right now..im not too sure. i planned on getting the muffler replaced with the stock one to get a feel of how it sounds. but that would be a waste if i planned on going quad.

now if i go quad from the get go, and i dont like the sound, it will be a waste of brand new piping from the resonator area to the rear. lol indecisive...i know

when going for a custom exhaust, most members prefer to get all matching amg tips. the problem we all run into is getting our hands on them

Maybe it depends on if the clk500 has the AMG package?

I honestly didn't notice until today but I have 2 AMG tips, thats why I asked. Some people mentioned online that all 06 have AMG tips but that didn't really make sense to me. Sry to hijack thread again

toga

i just got my dual in out borla today
i had originally ordered a magnaflow...then decided the borla sounded way more AMG like because of that raspy sound

i'll probably get mine installed this weekend or next... the internal x should sound pretty awesome...

Nice! My borla is coming on Monday, but won't be installing it anytime soon.
I went with borla because the Magnaflow sounds too mellow at high rpm, it doesn't scream at all.
The internal X combined with the muffler should get rid of any drone. Should roar like a beast! Looking forward to your review.

LOL. I also ordered mine from Amazon. I'm guessing you bought 2 more clk550 tips?
Double the price of the muffler for 2 new tips ain't that bad of a deal imo. At least all your tips will match.
I paid $500 + shipping for 4 tips off ebay.
