I just bought an 03 CLK500 Black and outfitted it with Lorinser LM5 19 inch wheels. 265/30/19 rear 235/35/19 front Nikko Tires and the fronts are rubbing on the wheel wells. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to correct this? Would another brand of tire that might be slightly smaller solve this? How much of an issue is the rubbing as far as causing damage?
Thanks All!
PS... The car does look smokin with these wheels!

Obviously, your first problem is the offsets are wrong. Umm....I am surprised that the front is rubbing, your rear should rub too. Are you planning to lower the car in the future? Some tires have a more "rounded" corner such as Toyo T1-S or Yoko ES100, those tires might help you to solve the problem, but no guarantee. Tires like PZero or S-03, and now Nitto 555 have a more "sqaured" corner, thats why you have this problem.

Do not go with the Yoko, they have a fat sidewalls, use Falken instead, has a nice thin sidewalls. Does it rub when u turn?? if it does, then get a spacer or leave it as it is, the wheels well will be grinded by the wheels eventually
.
Where's the picture??

The offsets are e36. According to Lorinser that is the right offset for this car. In addition to the rubbing, the Benz service center said the brake calipers are running "extremely" close to the spokes on both the fronts... 1mm . He said there should be at least 1/4 inch of space and its a disaster waiting to happen. I am not exactly thrilled at this moment. I will be on the phone with the wheels dealer in the morning to try and get all this rectified.
My recommendation to anyone looking to put the 19inch LM5s on their CLK500 is to wait until I report back ;-)
PS... I will get the pics posted over the weekend...
