Control arm bushings

Has Mercedes upgraded the W209 CLK control arms since 2003? I attempted to replace my upper control arm bushings today and discovered that the Meyle HD ones designed for the upper control arm do not fit into the control arm on my car. The diameter of the new bushing's outer metal "wrap" is larger than the diameter of the bushing I pulled out of the control arm. It's so large in fact, that if I hold it flush with the control arm, the inner portion of the bushing looks like the part that's supposed to go into the control arm. The Meyle bushing has a metal exterior while the one originally installed does not. Ordered from autohaus.

Anyone know what the deal is?

NO LONGER ACTIVE
I researched parts and it looks like there was a change in 2007.
