Balance shaft/idler gear class action suit
Saw on facebook(look under mercedes benz) that the class action suit has been denied. I had been reading that MB had been making some goodwill fixes. I wonder if they'll keep doing that. I had been hoping to buy 2006/07 CLK cabriolet. Not now. I'll have to look at 05 now as '08's still more than I want to pay.

Ya, they basically said you can't expect anything to last past the warranty period. I wonder how much a car would cost if none of it worked past the warranty period. Pretty bogus.

What an embarassment. I traded my 2007 CLK because I didn't want to face the hassle of a big repair.
I wonder how many MB's would be sold if the company embraced the idea they are only expected to last 50K miles?
Kia expects more from its cars as does Hundai. Anybody remember Yugos? They were your 50k cars.
