Comand trouble with the speed signal

Hi,

I've recently bought a CLK and everything is working like a charme only there is one thing. My Comand system (part.nr. starts with 203) has trouble with it's gala signal. The unit has been sitting in the car from the fabric.
When I'm driving for example 40 it says I'm driving between -300 and +900. The speeds jumps between those values. (seen on the info screen of the comand system)
When the key is in the ignition the comand goes automatically on and when the key is removed it automatically shuts down.
The radio is working fine. There are 8 satellites found on the comand system.
I've no idea what's wrong with it. Maybe you guys could help me out.

A friend of mine has the star diagnose system so I can hook it up if necessary.

Thanks

NO LONGER ACTIVE
The speed signal is delivered over the CAN bus. If there was a bus problem, you'd have other issues, like the steering wheel audio controls not working. I suspect it's a problem in the COMAND unit itself.

Thanks for the reply. At the moment I've some troubles with the com1 port which connect to the Star diagnose system.
Hopefully tonight I'll have more luck with it. I'll keep you guys posted.

I've solved the problem. Still can't connect with Star Diagnose though.
I was busy with the front sam and disconnected a couple of relais, fuses and wiring and also below it. Then I was heading home and notice no navigation. 10 minutes later it was displayed on the odometer again and I entered a address. Voila the route was calculated and the vehicle speed was correct.
Strange problem and strange solution but it works.

Thanks for the support
