R1 Rotors...just bought a set

Couldn't pass up the deal R1 has through today. 20% off.

Bought front and rears in the premium drilled and slotted.

They don't sell Akebono euro pads, so have to go elsewhere for them. TR doesn't have them until next month.

Anyone bought from http://www.placeforbrakes.com

Their prices seem excellent. 120.00 all four corners. Free shipping, PayPal

Let me know if you have a better place.

what is the maximum diameter of the front rotors that can be installed?
i know OEM are 300 mm, do they vary between the 320 pre-facelift & the 350?

Anyone use Centric rotors? Seems like they are on tire rack. I have the sport kit on the car with OEM cross drilled and would like to upgrade.

honestly most rotors would be fine as long as you dont go to kragen. if they are listed on tirerack, you should be golden unless you drive really hard.

A lot my friends use R1 rotors. none of which have had problems with warping or anything like that. braking is also a pretty important piece of the car. ALTHOUGH, I once heard a rumor that centric and r1 have the same rotor. just that r1 does more of the machining of the wholes and such. that is a rumor to my knowledge tho. but food for thought.

I had no problem with the R1's when I ran them - the big issue was with the Akebono pads. They don't bite as hard as a stock pad but that wasn't a big deal, they also kept my wheels super clean, I loved that about them. The issue is if you are going to do any track events (roadcourse, SOLO1/2 etc.) or autocross, mine were toast after 7 laps and almost caused a very bad accident going into the first corner at upwards of 200km/h when they completely faded out.

From experience, Akebono are fine for the street but DO NOT use them on the track.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. When I go on the site, including R1s home page, they indicate they do not make rotors for the 07, just the 06 and 08. Was there really a change or just an omission of the 07 on their part?

I noticed that as well. I would give them a call. Customer service was really good to deal with when I made my order.

their CSR is great.

talked to them thru chat. they listed e-line rotors for the c32 on their ebay page (btw, their ebay page has cheaper pricing fyi if you arent getting them while they are on sale).

they cross referenced the numbers and saved me some time since they never e lines for the c32 front rotors.

They arrived yesterday. Hardly any signs of wear to the 57 lbs. box. Each rotor was packed inside in individual boxes wrapped in plastic.

Just need to order up the Akebono's.
